Frequently Asked Questions
For Job Seekers:
Who do you assist?
We assist Service Members from all branches, component and status. This includes spouses, family members, and loved ones.
Are you a National Guard recruiter?
No. We assist current and former Service Members and their Families with finding civilian work and connecting them to additional resources they need. Please click here for a recruiter.
Do I need a resume to register?
No. You can skip the resume part and wait to be contacted by your Employment Counselor.
I've registered but have not been contacted by anyone yet.
Check your spam folder for an email. If you still have an issue, please contact us.
I got an Employment Status Review but don't know what it means:
This form will help your Employment Counselor write your resume.
How long will it take to get a resume written?
The more engaged you are with your counselor, the faster it can be done. On average about 5 exchanges.
I have a resume that I just want critiqued.
Too easy! Create a login and upload your resume for a critique.
I tried searching for jobs but nothing is showing up! What does that mean?
There are two places to look for jobs on the search page: the job board, and the labor exchange. Job announcements will post and expire daily so check back often. The labor exchange is often overlooked and has many more vacancies from larger employers.
How do I register to post jobs?
Fill out a request at http://www.centerforamerica.org/register.html and you'll be contacted by an employer relations specialist within 3 business days.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. NGEN is free for employers and for job seekers.
Who do I contact to register for a job fair?
Each flyer should have registration information. If not please contact us.
Do you have anything I can use for outreach? Yes! Here is our most current flyer (NGEN Marketing Flyer PA.jpg), flyer with pull tabs (Flyer_with_tabs.pdf), and PowerPoint presentation (NGEN_NEW.pptx).
