Employer  Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense Program that develops and promotes supportive work environments for Service members in the Reserve Components through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws, and resolves employment conflicts between the
Service Members and their employers.

The State Family Program Staff operate as a point of contact and coordinator for employment and education opportunities to help facilitate reduction in the number of unemployed and under-employed National Guard Service Members, Veterans and Family members.
They also coordinate, through the State Family Programs Director, with the Adjutant General and liaison with the state committee chair for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve on employment options and opportunities available to National Guard Service members, Veterans, and Families, through government, private sector and state Employment partnerships.
