Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program Specialists
Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) specialists provide intensive services to meet the employment needs of disabled veterans and other eligible veterans, with the maximum emphasis directed toward serving those who are economically or educationally disadvantaged, including homeless veterans, and veterans with barriers to employment. DVOP specialists are actively involved in outreach efforts to increase program participation among those with the greatest barriers to employment which may include but should not be limited to: outplacement in Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program offices; DVA Medical Centers; routine site visits to Veterans’ Service Organization meetings; Native American Trust Territories; Military installations; and, other areas of known concentrations of veterans or transitioning service members. The case management approach, taught by the National Veterans’ Training Institute, is generally accepted as the method to use when providing vocational guidance or related services to eligible veterans identified as needing intensive services.
Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives
Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives conduct outreach to employers and engage in advocacy efforts with hiring executives to increase employment opportunities for veterans, encourage the hiring of disabled veterans, and generally assist veterans to gain and retain employment. LVER staff conducts seminars for employers and job search workshops for veterans seeking employment, and facilitate priority of service in regard to employment, training, and placement services furnished to veterans by all staff of the employment service delivery system.

Citizen’s For Life Program (CSFL)
Citizen Soldier for Life mission is to prepare and connect Army National Guard (ARNG) Soldiers and their immediate Family with employment and education opportunities in order to maintain a ready and resilient force capable of accomplishing the State and Federal missions.
The Program focuses on:
- Individual case management
- Increasing financial literacy
- Delivering Career Readiness Standards (CRS) to Soldiers in the initial phase of the Soldier Life Cycle (SLC) and throughout the Soldiers career.
- Providing employment services to Soldiers and Families throughout the SLC that are unemployed, over-employed, or under-employed.
- Connecting and building lasting partnerships with, available resources, employers and community entities.
CSFL Career Readiness Counselors are able to offer a wealth of services to our National Guard Soldiers, some of these services include:

For referrals, questions or concerns please contact the Family Assistant Center (FAC) closest to your home.
These centers act as a resource to family members. The centers are readily available to family members, regardless of military branch.
The FACs provide services such as: information concerning Legal Matters, Financial Assistance, Information and Referral, Local and National Emergencies, Coordination with rear detachments during deployments, Problem Solving, Crisis Resolution and Rumor Control.

Jobseekers who provide an email address as part of their contact information can choose to receive notification from Arkansas JobLink of new or updated jobs that match their resume target job using Email Alerts.
Create a Resume
Job seekers can create online resumes, which can be viewed by employers who have been approved by Arkansas JobLink to conduct resume searches. Options are also available to upload an existing resume, or copy and paste from an existing resume. Online resumes include optional references with additional options to display references on the resume or not.
Jobseekers control who can see their resumes and the contact information on them:
Public: displays all information on the resume, including all contact information.
Public Limited: displays all information on the resume, except contact information. Only names and email addresses display to employers who view your resume.
Private: does not display the resume. Resumes will not display to employers who conduct resume searches. Job seekers who choose this option can use their resumes to search for jobs and receive email alerts.
The disclosure level can be set when the resume is created, but can be edited at any time. Resumes also include options to save in Word or PDF, preview, and print.
Contacting Employers
Jobseekers can contact employers directly about job openings by reviewing the job information for employer contact information and referral instructions.
Some employers choose to have the Arkansas Workforce Centers staff screen jobseekers for referral to their job openings. For these jobs, information on how to proceed displays on the job posting, and may require contact with the local Workforce Centers prior to a referral to the job.

Many of the things that keep Arkansas’ many industries operative today were built long ago by trade and craftsmen. Fewer people are choosing a career in the trades, even as demand and unemployment rates continue escalate. Just as with Arkansas, so many states in America are suffering from a widening skills gap that desperately needs to be filled.
That means, for everyone who enjoys modern day luxuries like electricity, indoor plumbing, paved roads, air conditioning, homes, and buildings to live and work in, things could take a nasty turn. This is because craftsmen and tradesmen are retiring at an alarming rate, and not enough people are training to take their place.

Mercedes-Benz DRIVE (MB DRIVE) Registered Apprenticeship Program
The Mercedes-Benz DRIVE (MB DRIVE) Registered Apprenticeship Program provides Transitioning Military Service Members, Veterans, and current members of the National Guard and Reserve with the opportunity to complete a one year Registered Apprenticeship that leads to an industry recognized credential as a Mercedes-Benz Certified Systems Technician.
